Ms. Slimak currently resides in Moorpark,
California with her husband of Marty, of thirty years.
Ms. Slimak and her husband previously were residents of
Santa Barbara for over eleven years before moving to the
Ventura County area with their son, Taylor. Prior
to her joining the health care industry, Donna was the
sales and marketing director for a firm within the
Tri-Counties area for ten years.
Ms. Slimak came to the Authority in 2000 from a national
health care organization in the Los Angeles area as
their Statewide Manager overseeing the Consumer Advocate
and Member Grievance and Appeals Departments. Ms.
Slimak brings over seventeen years of managed care
experience not only as a member advocate, but also as a
liaison to the regulating entities throughout the State
of California. Donna was an intricate part of the
team responsible for two separate health plans' NCQA
Full Surveys and an NCQA post merger MAC Survey,
representing Member Rights and Responsibilities
Standards, achieving full compliance and accreditation
in all three surveys. Donna majored in English,
attending the University of California at Santa Barbara.
