The Department of Health Services
(DHS) requires that our contracted providers follow the most recent immunization periodicity schedule of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). These schedules are updated regularly and are readily available on the AAP web site listed below by clicking on "Current Immunization Schedule".
Pediatric Immunization Schedule |
The 2005-2007 DHS contract requires the use of the AAP periodicity schedule of examinations following the Initial Health Assessment. This is in Accordance with the standard used to determine frequency of preventive health care visits assessed during medical record reviews.
References to CenCal Health's required pediatric preventive health and immunization guidelines are distributed to members and providers, and there is an active link to the AAP web site from the Health Resource links page on the
CenCal Health web site.
Preventive Health Guidelines for Children |
For adults, DHS requires that our contracted providers make available a core set of preventive services consistent with the "Guide to Clinical Preventive Services, a report of the United States Preventive Services Task Force" (USPSTF). The agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) makes these recommended services easily available in summary form on their web site and they are updated regularly.
