Get the following lab tests/screenings every year. You can often do them all on the same day, at your regular diabetes check-up.
  • A1c
  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol
  • Micro albumin tests (kidney panel)
  • Retinal eye exam every year
  • Diabetic foot exam to check the nerves in your feet
