Approved Alternative Access Standards
CenCal Health is required by the Department of Health Care Services to meet network adequacy standards. This makes sure that Medi-Cal members have access to covered services. It requires CenCal Health to meet both time and distance standards. This is based on county population density. Sometimes, there is not a needed provider close enough. In those situations, CenCal Health can still get you care.
If your zip code and provider type are listed, CenCal Health will assist you in getting an appointment. You have the right to call our Member Services department. We are available to assist you Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at our toll-free number: 1-877-814-1861. If you cannot hear or speak well, please call California Relay at 711 or TTY: 1-833-556-2560. If CenCal Health cannot find you an appointment with a closer specialist, we can help you with transportation.
