Images should be used to supplement text content on the website. This guide will help with sizing and inserting images.
Image Height and Width
Use the heights and widths provided below with the appropriate templates and to convey the intended meaning.
Home Page Banner Image
When using a home page template, you should use a banner image that is 1920 pixels wide and 523 pixels tall. Do not upload an image in a smaller size as that will lead to sub-optimal image quality.
Text appearing on the banner image should be added to the image itself before uploading into Sitecore.
We recommend you use only five banners on your home page at any time.
Home Page Feature Block Images
Feature block images must be 292 pixels wide and 316 pixels tall.
Home Page Carousel Slide Images
Carousel side images must be 345 pixels wide. The height may vary, although each of the carousel images must be the same size, and the recommended height is 215 pixels tall.
Home Page Callout Images
Callout images must be 365 pixels wide. The height may vary.
Secondary Page Banner Image
Banner images are dominant and demand attention. They appear above the content they are intended to represent. A content banner image in a landing page, 2-Column, Wide-Right Interior, or 3-Column Interior layout should be 1920 pixels wide and 454 pixels tall.
Images in Content
Text will wrap around images that are smaller than the width of the content area. A good rule-of-thumb for floated images in a 2- or 3-column layout is 250 x 250 pixels square, but the height can be variable if the image is not square. Images should be no more than half of the width of the main content column (no more than 430 pixels wide on a 2-column, wide-right page) if they are being displayed next to text.
Images that are oriented right are preferred. In the WYSIWYG editor, you can apply the float-right class to images once you have inserted them into the content.
Before You Upload

- Images and files can NOT contain underscores (_) within their file names.
- Images should be sized correctly before they are uploaded. The CMS is not an image editor.
- Use alt tags appropriately to label images.
- Images should always be floated right unless they occupy the full width of their content area. Images may be floated left only when this position is crucial to the understanding of content.
