Medi-Cal for Kids & Teens, formerly known as Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT), guarantees all medically necessary services to children and youth under age 21 enrolled in Medi-Cal.
This training aims to strengthen understanding and awareness of Medi-Cal for Kids and Teens among Medi-Cal managed care plan-enrolled providers and increase access to children’s health services. California’s managed care plans, including CenCal Health, must ensure that all Medi-Cal Network Providers receive proper education and training regarding Medi-Cal for Kids and Teens at least every two years.

Clinical Training Resources & Certification (formally known as CHDP Screening Trainings)
On July 1, 2024, the Childhood Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) was transitioned to align with the State of California’s CalAIM goals and initiatives.
As authorized by Senate Bill 184, this transition was made with the goal to “reduce administrative complexities, enhance coordination of care and whole person care approach, and increase standardization of care” by merging care duties to managed care plans (MCP), including CenCal Health. CHDP’s goal to provide preventative health, vision, and dental screenings to children under 21 is maintained, with training responsibilities transitioned to CenCal Health.
Please reference the training resources below that focuses on preventive care, including routine health check-ups, immunizations, vision and hearing screenings, dental, and developmental assessments. The training programs aim to identify health issues early, promote healthy development, and connect families with necessary medical services.
